The weaving mill Pahl as a part of the international Pahl company group with own production facilities in Turkey and Egypt is specialized in the development and production of textiles for table, bed and bath in hotels, hospitals, clinics and retirement homes.
Together with the customer they develop customized solutions, which unite and ensure individual requirements at quality, logistics and service. Through intelligent, digital networking of business processes directly with the customer, processes are constantly optimized in the course of permanent supply chain management.

Business Challenge

The textile industry is also undergoing a radical change. Industry 4.0, smart and functional textiles and digitalization are no longer future issues. New approaches and technologies must be developed and user experience must be brought to a completely new level in order to be able to assert oneself against the competition. For the weaving mill Pahl, the focus is on data-based automation of sales processes.

In the course of an international congress on 27 and 28 October 2017, the medium-sized company wanted to offer visitors a new trade fair experience and relied on a completely new way of presentation.

While all other trade fair exhibitors presented their selection of textiles live on site, visitors did not find any exhibits at the weaving mill Pahl stand. And yet the textile was still the focus of attention. How is this supposed to work? Virtual Reality is the keyword!

On entering the exhibit booth, visitors were given a special cardboard with which they could transform their own smartphone into virtual reality glasses. With the solution on the Simplifier „txVision3D“ the visitors could get a preview of the future of textile visualization.

On the start screen of the application, the user can choose between the weaving mill Pahl website, an image video and the actual highlight, the “Vision” menu item.

With just one click, the user enters a virtual environment and can experience different textiles live through different viewing perspectives. If the fabrics or colours do not meet the requirements, the object can simply be exchanged with a few hand movements. No matter if pillows or bed linen – all components can be configured according to your own needs. The surrounding room can also be adapted according to the user’s wishes.

With the solution on the Simplifier, the user can virtually put together the perfect combination for the individual purpose from the weaving mill Pahl product portfolio. The configurable presentation room can be viewed in 3D and in virtual reality.

With the solution on the Simplifier, weaving mill Pahl was able to set itself apart from its competitors with a completely new way of presentation. The positive feedback was also reflected in the high number of app downloads on the day of the fair itself.


Instead of real products, these were only displayed virtually. The attention generated in this way was used positively by the weaving mill Pahl and left a lasting impression on the trade fair visitors.
