Of course, digitalization is also a high priority for one of the largest German food companies. To be able to create the necessary applications even faster and with less effort, Südzucker – based in Mannheim, Germany – has now decided to start working with the Würzburg-based low-code vendor Simplifier.
Südzucker’s aim is to support business processes efficiently and sustainably with mobile applications (apps) that are used company-wide. The low-code approach has crystalized as a convenient way to do this even more efficiently after having explored the issue of cloud-based apps. Using a low-code platform like Simplifier enables Südzucker employees to create SAP-related mobile applications and integrate them successfully into business processes.
Due to the strongly merged SAP system landscape, Südzucker is dependent on a technology for the creation of corporate applications that allows the use of SAP data in particular via simple integration. The technology provider from Würzburg has strong SAP know-how and used this experience in the development of its own product right from the start, so Südzucker identified the advantages of Simplifier in this regard. Moreover, the low-code platform offers further possibilities to integrate many different types of backend systems. “The possibility of complete SAP integration as well as the simple and intuitive usability were as important to us in selecting a low-code platform as being independent of the provider. This was a given with Simplifier” says Birgit Wellenreuther (Head of IT Business Application) at Südzucker.
With a “proof of value” meeting at Südzucker’s headquarters in Mannheim, the responsible managers of Südzucker had the chance to convince themselves directly about the advantages and the quality of Simlifier.
Among other things, the use of web technology as well as the high degree of flexibility and independence that Simplifier provides were well appreciated. This low-code technology is usable for any device and for any operating system. In addition, the company retains control over the source code of the applications in a long-term perspective.
“We are very pleased that we have convinced Südzucker from the advantages of our low-code platform and that we have won one of the most important German companies as a customer”, says Simplifier-CSO, Florian Rühl.
